Hello friends! Did you have a great Christmas? We had a very nice time. Unfortunately my mom broke her ankle two days before Christmas and was wheeling around in a wheelchair! But I took the reins and pulled off the cooking and cleaning and we had a great holiday. Scarlet is still knee-deep in her toys, having fun. We are both off for the week, so it's relaxing and playing time! I love when all the craziness ends and you can slow down! And speaking of slowing down, I am going to try and enjoy every minute of this week off from work, and do what I love: reading, making art, cooking, and going out for drinks with friends!
Before I go today I just had to show you my favorite Christmas present! My mom made me this awesome shadowbox. The pictures do not even come close to doing it justice! It's so meticulously made. And there are even LED lights under the snow floor!
The glittering is gorgeous, and the box is bigger than it looks: 9"x10" and 4" deep!
She got the passage from the Bible, and did so much wonderful layering for the background. It's such a magical winter wonderland scene. And it makes a pretty nightlight in my bedroom! My mom is so talented. She is going to spend a bunch of her ankle-recovery time making more of these for some art shows.
Well I hope you enjoyed your Christmas, and can now kick back a bit this week and slow down. I will be back soon...xox
