What an awesome Saturday I had! It was a day packed with all the things I love! My best friend of 20 years came over for the afternoon to celebrate Christmas. This year we decided to exchange a handmade gift only. Just look at the canvas Ellie made me!
Ellie's fashion illustrations are so awesome! I told her she should get into doing a line of cards. I love this girl's outfit...so me!
Ellie used paints, inks, pencils, and glitter to create her. I think she should sell these custom-made on etsy! what do you think?
So Ellie just redecorated her bedroom in very modern grays, yellows and blues, so I made her a mandala canvas in those colors:
And this little fabric hangable...
I finally made us some mulled wine, which I have been meaning to make for months! It was so yummy, and made the house smell so good.
For lunch I made us a few salads, two of which I found on my current favorite food blog My New Roots . The first one was Leek with garbanzo beans and feta.....
Highly recommended! And the second was awesome too...Winter Slaw Salad with Tahini dressing...
After our lunch we got to crafting! If you recall, last month I learned how to make a Sculpey Christmas Elf thanks to Vivian . So using the same technique I decided to make a snowman. I made one for my mom for Christmas and liked how it turned out so Ellie and I made them together.
Aren't they sweet!? I used the round paper mache boxes and stacked them and covered them in Diamond Dust. I made the first two and Ellie made the one to the far right. I love how she made her eyes so big and dramatic!
We laughed so hard because Ellie had never glittered anything before and was freaking out OCD-style over all the glitter flying all over!
This is the snowman I'm giving my mom (who better not be looking at my blog!)
So after a festive afternoon, it was on to a dinner out with my family. We went to Fiamma's for the indulgence of steak!
This dinner will keep me full all week!
I took a bunch of cute pics of Scarlet with my brother. She just loves her Uncle Dave!
After dinner we decorated cookies with Grammie!
Tonight we're headed to the Festival of Lights!
Oh, and before I go, look at the special gifts Sandy gave me for Christmas!...
An adorable Raggedy Annie by Nicole Ellison , yummy Earl Grey tea, and a to-die-for Voluspa pine candle I have been burning non-stop since I got it! Thank you so much Sandy!!
I hope all of my blogland friends are enjoying their week!
