Retro Kitchen and Romantic Garden

I'm back with another ATC trade. This time I chose the themes and Jacqueline in Quebec joined me. First up was "Retro Kitchen" and Jacqueline made this awesome card:

my day today

Today in a nutshell...

-woke up at 6:30am, got on the computer and checked email and blogs while I ate cereal, took a shower, got dressed, threw some things in a bag, my mom arrived for Scarlet, put make-up on in my car, drove to Tim Hortons and got a medium tea, got to work at 8:30

-thought about how it would have been my dad's 58th birthday today and how I would have read Chelsea Handler's chapter on her love of midgets had I been able to call him. He would have LOVED it.

-taught my students, ate chips and salsa on my lunch break and read, left work

-drove home, changed clothes, cut my lawn, planted flowers in pots and urns, planted my herbs on my deck, grabbed my ipod and water bottle, went to the post office, then went to the gym, rode 15 miles on the spinning bike, came home

- took a shower, drank a Emergen-C drink, put on a Billie Holiday CD, cooked myself a tomato, onion and fresh mozzerella omelette for dinner, got on the computer to do this post

Next up for the evening....

-Scarlet getting dropped off by grammie within the next 20 minutes, do some dishes, think about folding some laundry, but probably pour a glass of wine and take Scarlet in the backyard, come inside, give Scarlet a bath, put on a movie for Scarlet and get in bed with her and watch it/ read my book simultanously, hopefully go to sleep early.

weekend randomness...

Happy weekend my friends! Thought I'd pop in and post some pics from my life these past fews days...no rhyme or reason....

I've been in the garden today puttering around, trying to weed!

Love getting out here...

We've had so much rain that it was good to get a couple hours of sun!

Sat on my patio drinking tea from my favorite new mug...(I need this reminder!)

(nice terry cloth pants eh?)

I then got to talk for awhile on the phone with my friend Tabitha which was nice! (thanks for chatting Tabitha!).

Since I had eaten so many bad things in the last few days I decided to have this for dinner:

My BFF Ellie told me she recently found a magazine recipe for this, and it's good! Just throw together tuna, white beans, red onion, black pepper and red wine vinegar! Yummy! Another summery salad I love is caprese....

I just love basil so this is my go-to salad all summer! And speaking of herbs, I will be planting my deck herb pot soon. I went to the garden center today and got some Italian parsley and cilantro.

Anyway, backtracking to my BFF Ellie, look at the fun gifts she brought me last week when she came over for dinner...

Let's see...today I received another atc from Kimberly with whom I did another trade. Her theme was "True Blue". I received this lovely atc...

And I made her this one....

So tomorrow is Mother's Day. Scarlet and I will be having dinner at my mom's. Wishing all of you mothers a spectacular day! You deserve it!

This time my sweet friend Kimberly and I traded two-for-two and I picked the theme. Theme one was "Vintage Sewing". Kimberly made this beauty:

I love the reds (my fav color!). I made this one using one of my favorite things to work with: beeswax!....

My second theme of choice was "French/Paris inspired" and Kimberly made this pretty card...

And I made this one...

And not only that, but I scored this extra from Kimberly cause she's so darn nice!...

Masks and Crowns

Another atc trade was completed between Karen and I! This time it was my choice for the theme.

The first was "Masks/Costumes", and this fun Marie card was made for me by Karen:
