Ok, so the month is ending today. And you know how I like to reflect on things that I learned, was reminded of etc..? Like I did for January here , February here and March here ? .....well...
I'm gonna go ahead and pass.
And drink this big, fat glass of Reisling, enjoy the sun, and try not to think on April anymore....

Lately, I've been cooking. I just love cooking. Love eating. Last night I went out to a Middle Eastern restaurant and had Chicken Shawarma and Arak to drink...
It was my first time drinking Arak and it was yummy! Anise-flavored and strong! I didn't take any pictures but I should have because the atmosphere was great, and the food delicious.
As for staying home and eating...here's a couple things I snapped shots of...

Hello! I'm back to show you the swap that my friend Tabitha hosted!
Tabitha and her daughter Madison were partners with Scarlet and I and here is the sweet basket Madison sent Scarlet:

She was just thrilled to receive all this fun stuff! Her first swap!
She sent Madison this basket...

And because my baskets were a wee bit small we added this to the outside of the basket..
And for us moms...Tabitha sent me this beautiful basket...

Back to Monday morning! I'm exhausted! The weekend was full!
I told you that I had attended the Maha Thingyan Buddhist Ceremony in the last post, but here's what else filled my weekend...
- A concert to see some jazz played by this guy (www.boneyjames.com)
Who was quite the character I must say. I am not a huge sax fan, but I love jazz and I got to go for free! It ended up being really good, even if I did feel like I was in an 80's Cinemax "love scene"!
- A really awesome dinner out here....
- Hanging out with this girl, who was off-her-rocker-crazy all weekend!
- Took her to play games here...
- And have some Bubble Tea here....
- Got a FREE manicure- wootwoot! and sent out my postcards for my swap!
My weekend also consisted of writing a resume (AGGGHHHH....it stresses me out to even think about writing a resume, let alone actually writing one!!), doing endless laundry, eating cold pizza in the shower, watching "Cats and Dogs: the Revenge of Kitty Galore" about 4 times, and making ATCs!
Now it's back to the grind! Today: work, go to spinning class and read!

Last year I did a post on the Maha Thingyan ceremony I attended. I didn't take many photos this year, but please visit my old post here . I feel so lucky to be able to experience such wonderful, diverse events like this. My students are such a joy to me, and as I've said before, I think I get more from them than they do from me.
The other day I got a call from one of my favorite people on the planet. A former student and Buddhist Monk. It's time again for Maha Thingyan.
At his home he conducts a Buddhist Water Festival Ceremony. I went last year and had such a great experience. In an hour I'll be at it again!
No, I'm not Buddhist, but I am honored to be invited to their special ceremony, and I get so much out of their beliefs.
This particular monk and I have known one another for 3 years and he has been such a delight to me. I made him this mandala as an offering for the ceremony.
The background was fun to make...love the color scheme. Then it looked like this pre-shading:
But a little charcoal shading really makes it pop...
