Ahh...up early on the old birthday as though I'm still a kid waiting for the party! Now I'm up early cause that's what older people do...get up before their kids so they can score some quiet time to go blog about themselves! Ha!
So today I'm 35! yikes! (my mom's gotta be feelin' old today, poor thing!)
So yesterday my mom and Scarlet took me for "tea" and antiquing, which was nice, except that I forgot my camera there! And it's 45 minutes away! Ugh. Well, I guess my Martin Luther King Jr. Day just got planned!
Tonight mom and I are going for a dinner out alone which will be fun! I'd take pictures, but, well, you know.
So let's see, I could tell you "35 weird things about me" on this day, but you already know I eat in the shower, etc, etc....so maybe I'll ponder ...
35 Things I Want to DO in my 35th year....how 'bout that?
in no particular order...
1. Get a juicer. Actually use it.
2. Sort all my art papers into some sort of sorted order.
3. Read at least 35 books. That's actually less than what I will read, but I'm thinking the "35" theme here.
4. Go on a roadtrip. I don't know where. But somewhere fun.
5. Get a physical and bloodwork done. Don't lose the bloodwork script for the millionth time. Actually use it before it crumbles into dust.
6. Make molded chocolate. Don't eat it...it's probably sucks, but make it. Did you see those cute cameo molds in the last Country Living was it?!
7. Go on a picnic somewhere besides my backyard.
8. Speaking of backyards: keep it weeded and mowed and watered.
9. Figure out how to get songs OFF my iPod.
10. Finish a few more art journals.
11. Do a huge puzzle. I got hooked on puzzles this year while making them with Scarlet. I'm a bit obsessive when working on them though. They are actually quite a pointless thing to do, and will use up time I don't have, but still: do a huge puzzle.
12. Take an online class. One that doesn't cost a gazillion bucks.
13. Have a garage sale. Make loads of money on old crap.
14. Take a spinning class. Which will be the first "check" on this list since I've committed myself to a class tomorrow.
15. Do yoga again. At least a couple times. It's too expensive to go often where I like to go, and I sure as hell know myself better than to think I'll do it with a video at home.
16. Go to a fun concert. Something unofficially reserved for people under 35.
17. Get published again.
18. Make one of those picture books...Shutterfly is it?
19. Have a few art parties with my friends. One is planned: check.
20. Pick berries this summer with Scarlet. Take pictures.
21. Make some more friends.
22. Sleep at the beach on the sand. Not because I'm drunk or tired after swimming. I mean like overnight.
23. Get a router for this laptop, damn it.
24. Restock my etsy for God's sake.
25. Play tennis. At least a couple times.
26. Make someone's day. A nice random-act-of-kindness I guess.
27. Spend the day at Letchworth State Park. I'd say "camp" there, but that might be pushing it.
(ok...this is getting hard...I'm not as ambitious as I thought...)
28. Use my sewing machine more. (Anyone who visits this blog has heard that one before!)
29. Stop wishing I was 29.
30. Stop biting my nails.
31. Stop losing things.
32. Learn a new art techinique, or really just something new in general.
33. Try some more new recipes....(ok, this is getting lame.)
34. Take a breakdancing class like I wanted to when I was 10. (Just Kidding!)
35. Stop making so many lists.
Alright! So now Scarlet is awake, and my play time just ended! Off to cook breakfast, take a shower (while eating truffles), go grocery shopping, and wait for your comments!
Happy Birthday to me! xox
